This is an easy orange ice cream recipe that results in a creamy sweet orange taste, similar to what you may call a “Dreamsicle” or “Creamsicle” flavor.
We have an orange tree in our front yard so using freshly squeezed juice (at least in season) is an easy option for us. While I highly suggest you try it with freshly squeezed oranges, I realize that this may defy your definition of “easy” and since I promised easy go ahead and use regular orange juice.
Please Note: All of my recipes make approximately one quart of ice cream.

2 cups (ideally freshly squeezed) orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Instructions: Whisk the sugar in the orange juice until dissolved and then add all other ingredients. Then pour in your ice cream maker and mix until it is frozen.
If you opt for freshly squeezed, expect to use around 8 oranges, though the amount will vary depending on the type of oranges you use. I didn’t any food coloring to this batch so the color is very pale orange just from the juice. If you want a real creamy orange color, you can add 1/8 teaspoon red and 1/4 teaspoon yellow food coloring.
